Terms of service.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Lumio Software FZ-LLC, a company registered in the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ), United Arab Emirates ("Lumio", "we", "us"). They govern your access to and use of jsonbolt, including the website at jsonbolt.com, the jsonbolt desktop application and command-line interface, and related services (together, the "Service").
By downloading the app, purchasing a license, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you are accepting on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to bind that company, and "you" refers to that company.
1. The software
jsonbolt is a high-performance JSON viewer and toolkit, distributed as a desktop application (GUI) and a command-line interface (CLI) (together, the "Software"). The Software runs locally on your device: your files are parsed, indexed, and searched on-device and are not uploaded to us. Paid plans are described on our pricing page.
2. License tiers
The Software is offered under the following tiers:
- Personal (free). A free license for personal, non-commercial use only, limited to JSON files up to 50 MB. Personal use means your own projects, learning, open-source contributions, and hobby work. Any use in or for a business — including freelance and contract work — requires a paid license.
- Pro. An annual per-seat subscription that permits commercial use, removes the file-size limit, and includes priority email support. Each seat may be used on up to 2 devices.
- Lifetime. Where offered, a one-time purchase per seat granting ongoing access to all Pro features for the lifetime of the Service, subject to these Terms.
3. License grant and restrictions
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software under your applicable tier. You agree not to:
- use the Personal (free) version for commercial purposes or on files larger than 50 MB by circumventing the Software's limits;
- share, publish, or resell license keys, or activate a license on more devices than your plan allows;
- bypass, disable, or interfere with license enforcement in the Software;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software except where permitted by law;
- redistribute, rent, lease, or provide the Software to third parties outside your organization; or
- use the Service to develop a competing product.
4. Accounts
The Personal version requires no account and no payment method. Paid licenses are associated with the email address used at purchase and your license key. You must provide accurate information, keep your license key and credentials secure, and you are responsible for activity under your license. You must be at least 18 years old to purchase a license.
5. Orders, billing, and payment
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"). Paddle is the Merchant of Record for all orders. Your purchase contract is with Paddle, and Paddle handles payment processing, applicable taxes (such as VAT, GST, and sales tax), invoicing, and payment-related customer service. Paddle's terms apply to purchases: https://www.paddle.com/legal/buyer-terms
Additional billing terms:
- Plans and seats. Paid plans are priced per seat as shown on the pricing page. Each seat covers one person on up to 2 devices.
- Renewal. Pro subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each annual billing period until canceled. You can cancel anytime via the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
- Free version. The Personal version is free forever within its limits (files up to 50 MB, non-commercial use). No payment method or account is required, so you can fully evaluate the Software before purchasing.
- Lifetime license. Where offered, the Lifetime license is a one-time purchase granting ongoing access to Pro features for the stated number of seats for the lifetime of the Service, subject to these Terms.
- Price changes. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; changes apply from your next billing period.
6. Refunds
Refunds are handled by Paddle as merchant of record in accordance with our Refund Policy and the Paddle Refund Policy. Refund requests should be made within 14 days of the transaction date. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to: use the Service in violation of law; attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its data; interfere with or disrupt the Service; upload malicious code to the website or our services; or misrepresent your eligibility for a license tier (for example, using a student license without active enrollment).
8. Your files and our intellectual property
Your files. You retain all rights to the files you open or process with the Software. The Software processes your files locally on your device; we do not receive, store, or claim any rights over their contents.
Our IP. We and our licensors own the Service, including all software, design, and the parsing and indexing engine. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Software under your license tier. We may use aggregated, de-identified usage data to improve the Service, provided it does not identify you or your organization.
9. Updates, license checks, and support
The Software runs entirely on-device and does not require an internet connection for normal use. Paid licenses perform a brief online license check once at activation and approximately once a month thereafter. We may provide updates to the Software; Pro and Lifetime licenses include all Pro feature updates for their term. Support is provided by email at support@jsonbolt.com, with a 48-hour priority target for paid plans.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. The Software is a viewing and transformation tool; you are responsible for verifying the outputs you rely on.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law: (a) neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data; and (b) our total aggregate liability arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
12. Indemnity
You will indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your breach of Section 3 (license restrictions) or your unlawful use of the Service.
13. Term, suspension, and termination
These Terms apply while you use the Service. We may suspend or terminate your license for material breach of these Terms, non-payment, or where required by law. Upon termination, your right to use the Software ends and you must uninstall and delete your copies, except that you may continue using the Personal version within its limits if your paid license (not these Terms) was what ended.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will notify you by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. The courts of Ras Al Khaimah have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms, except that nothing prevents consumers from relying on mandatory protections of the law of their country of residence. Your purchase contract with Paddle is governed by Paddle's buyer terms.
